The City of Monroe offers two cemeteries to assist the community and surrounding areas in planning for their loved ones. Mound Cemetery
Mound Cemetery is located at 560 S Main Street, Monroe, Ohio 45050 and can be accessed via the South Main Street entrance.
The Mound Cemetery Association was organized in 1859 under special charter of the statutes of Ohio passed February 24, 1848. The Village of Monroe deeded the Mound Cemetery to the Lemon Township Board of Trustees to manage and maintain on May 19, 1941. In the mid-1990s the responsibility of the Mound Cemetery was given back to the City of Monroe.
Today there are ten sections with plots still available in this tranquil space for reflection and remembrance.
North Monroe Cemetery
North Monroe Cemetery is located at 401 N. Main Street, Monroe, Ohio 45050. The cemetery is on the west side of Cincinnati Dayton Road (also known as North Main Street/formerly known as County Road 25) 0.4 miles north of its intersection with Hamilton Lebanon Road/State Route 63.
The North Monroe Cemetery was chartered on December 16, 1858, and laid out on May 2, 1860.
Currently there are two sections in the North Monroe Cemetery with plots still available.
